Fathers Program at Freedom Café

Building Stronger Fathers. Strengthening Families. Supporting Community.

The program is facilitated locally by Jason Weaver, the chef, alongside additional trained facilitator dedicated to supporting fathers in Greenfield, Franklin County and surrounding communities.

This is an evidence-based fatherhood and parenting program designed to help men grow as fathers, co-parents, role models, and leaders within their families and communities.

This program creates a safe, respectful environment where fathers can have real conversations about parenting, relationships, communication, emotional regulation, leadership, and the challenges of modern fatherhood.

The goal is growth, connection, accountability, and building healthier families one day at a time.

The Nurturing Fathers Program is a nationally recognized, evidence-based 13-week course that teaches practical parenting and nurturing skills for men. The curriculum has been implemented in community organizations, schools, churches, counseling centers, correctional programs, and fatherhood initiatives across the country.

Jason's Story

Jason Weaver (formerly known as Jason Allen) is a father, Army veteran, community leader, and one of the local facilitators of the Nurturing Fathers Program hosted at Freedom Café.

As part of a large blended family, Jason and his wife are raising eight children together and understand firsthand both the beauty and the challenges that come with parenting, co-parenting, step-parenting, and building a stable home in today’s world. Their goal has always been to create a home where kids feel safe, welcomed, supported, and encouraged to grow into healthy adults.

Jason served in the United States Army and deployed to Iraq at just 19 years old. After returning home, he became passionate about supporting fathers, especially veterans and men navigating difficult life transitions. His experiences led him to help co-found what was believed to be one of the first VA-based Nurturing Fathers support groups of its kind at the Department of Veterans Affairs medical center in Leeds, Massachusetts. The program was created to help fathers dealing with challenges related to military service, deployment, PTSD, addiction recovery, co-parenting struggles, emotional regulation, and reconnecting with their children.

Over the years, Jason has become known for his direct but compassionate approach to fatherhood mentorship. Through both the Nurturing Fathers Program and the Front Line to Fatherhood community, he works to create a judgment-free environment where men can have honest conversations, learn healthier parenting tools, and realize they are not alone.

Jason believes strong fathers help build strong families, and strong families help strengthen entire communities.
